Woman of the Year - Nona Hall, National Association of Letter Carriers 524

Nona Hall, NALC 524

Nona is a city letter carrier for Roanoke, Virginia and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Local 524. She has served as shop steward, Trustee and on the entertainment committee. Nona is currently the Recording Secretary of the Western Virginia Area Labor Federation and a Trustee for the Coalition of Labor Union Women - Westn Virignia Chapter.

Her union training includes completion of the 18th class of NALC's Leadership Academy. Members of the 18th academy class chose the motto "For More than Ourselves." This aptly describes Nona's dedicaion to the labor movement. If there is a picet line in the area, she will spend time there. Her creativity, passion and enthusiasm fo the labor movement is also demonstrated through designing and building floats for local parades. The postal float, "Gone Coastal" won 1st place in the Labor Day 2022 Parade.

After graduaion from Blacksburg High School, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Radford University. Delivering the nations's mail and suppoprting the labor movement allow her to enjoy family, friends and a wide range of hobbies. Some of her favorite crafts are sewing, crocheting and painting. Most of Non's time is filled with loving for her family as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, etc. Wither her husband David, they make a warm home with their dogs, Dudley and Bailey.
