2012 Woman of the Year

Wanda Anderson, UAW 2069 Trustee

Wanda Lewis Anderson was born in Outhwest Virginia. Married to James Andersor for 43 years. They have two beautiful children, Buffy their daughter and James Jr their son. She also has two siblings. Wanda comes from a proud union family. Her mother was a union woman and she also has a sister who is active in the union. Wanda's mother set a wonderful example for her daughter.

Wanda lived through the 60's, the integration era. Her mother was a respected community advocate that helped smooth the transition from segregation to integration in her neighborhood and children's lives. Mrs. Lewis also taught her children that unions are a good thing, they create better work conditions, and good pay for everyone. Wanda was raised with the belief that family comes first.

With that being said, this hard working Union Woman has been in this fight for equality for over 25 years. Working ever tirelessly to promote a safe, fair and especially equal workplace for her brothers and sisters. Wanda spends many hours away from her family, knowing, and showing them that the sacrifice she and her family makes is small in comparison to the lifference a Union can and will make to the future of so many

Always ready willing and able to line serve or her lobbying union on in Capitol and a Wanda's proud efforts voice whatever capacity they deem necessary. Be it walking a picket Hill, are tireless and timeless. She does it all, a wife, a mother, a friend, of the union. She is a Proud Union Woman
