Daniel G. LeBlanc, born September 1, 1944, was elected President of the 200,000 member Virginia State AFL-CIO  in August of 1990 .

A member of the Interntional Association fo Machinists and Aerospce Workers Union  since 1970, LeBlanc served from 1984 to 1990 as Secretary-Treasurer of the State Federation of Labor and preiously as President of the Virginia State Council of Machinists. He also is a member of the Democratic National Committee, the Party's governing body, and the Democratic Party of Virginia Steering Committee.

Mr. LeBlanc is a journeyman tool and die maker by trade. He grew up  in Ecorse, Michigan, a small industrial city down river from Detroit, and has been a resident of Virginia since 1970.

A U.S. Army Veteran, he has been active in community affairs and political campaigns in virginia for over two decades.
