CSA assists union families who experience hardship due to no fault of their own with limited financial assistance to help prevent utility cut-offs, evictions / foreclosures, hunger, and other basic needs.
Since the program’s inception, CSA has provided over $1.3 million to support over 4,700 metro Washington area union families.
To apply for Emergency Assistance, you:
- Must be a member of a local labor union that is an affiliate of the Metropolitan Washington Council or Northern Virginia Labor Federation.
- Must be referred by their local union.
- Be able to document you have an emergency need.
Due to high demand and limited resources, emergency assistance is a one-time benefit. However, CSA will do its best to provide information about other resources.
